Konzou-ji Temple

Commentary
Shoten-sama, which is the colloquial name for the Great Sage Nandikesvara (Ganesh in the Buddhist pantheon) and Mahesvara (Shiva in the Buddhist pantheon), is enshrined in the Shotengu. Shoten-sama is usually kept hidden from the public in other places, while Shotengu in Konzou-ji Temple is opened for the public to see the statue all the time. It seems to have a human head and human body, although its shape is obscure due to the exposure to the weather for a long period of time.
