About the Project

Learn all you need to know by slowly walking around the town

and tracing the course of history, as you follow the path walked by Kukai.

Zentsuji City in Kagawa Prefecture is the birthplace of Kukai (Kobo Daishi), who founded the Shingon (True Word) school of Buddhism. The city is named after the Sohonzan Zentsuji Head Temple, and it is one of the cities on the Shikoku Henro pilgrimage to 88 sacred places, having five (numbers 72 to 76) of these temples.

By simply taking a slow walk around the town, you will come across numerous cultural heritages each with their own value and sense of history. Zentsuji is a city that is moving forward by learning from its history, and preserving its cultural heritage for future generations.

The "Zentsuji Cultural Heritage Slow Walk" Project is a fresh and "slow step" into the next chapter in the city's history.
