Commentary
This is the Shrine of Three Emperors; it is a designated cultural property of Zentsuji city. The three emperors are Emperor Go-Saga, Emperor Kameyama, and Emperor Go-Uda. Zentsu-ji often received benevolent patronage from these three emperors, and these three two-storied Buddhist towers were built in memory of them. The towers used to be located in a residential area about 100 meters north of the Garan complex, but they were moved to the current location in 1964.
