Commentary
This is the store and residence of the Okawa family who used to be brewers. The store was completed in 1901. The second floor has black plaster wall and a relief of their product Seishu Gogaku (name of refined sake), the production of which began in 1923. The adjacent building is a Western style residence and was mainly used as a reception. It was completed in 1937. Two Japanese and Western style buildings standing in a row shows the prosperity of the Okawa Sake Store at that time.
