Commentary
This is the guardhouse, which is a registered tangible cultural property. Together with the Deva Gate, it was established in 1889. In the past, as passage over the stone bridge in front of the Deva Gate, which is referred to as the Hatsuka (20th day) Bridge, was only allowed on the 20th of each month, the "bansho" (guardhouse), which was manned by security guards, was constructed to enforce this.
