Commentary
This is a Bando 33 Avalokitesvara Sanctuary (copy of sacred site). It is said that Bando 33 Avalokitesvara Sanctuary was established in the beginning of the Kamakura period, influenced by the Saigoku 33 Avalokitesvara Sanctuary. It includes many ancient and old temples throughout the whole district of Kanto. From the mid-Edo period onwards, copies of sacred sites were built all over Japan, and this was built as a part of the 1200th anniversary projects of the foundation of Zentsu-ji Temple in 2006.
