Mandara-ji Temple
niomon
Commentary
This is the Deva Gate. It is the front gate of Mandara-ji Temple, and it is thought that it was established in the latter half of the 18th Century during the Edo period. The front gate stores the wooden Nio statues, and at its rear, one can find a pair of massive straw sandals that have been installed in dedication by devout worshippers from the surrounding areas. Additionally, re-thatching of the roof has been performed in 1987.
