Commentary
This is the Daishido (Hall for Kobo Daishi). This edifice was built in veneration of Kobo Daishi, and it was established in 2013. A "gomadan" (altar) can be found in the center of the hall, and "tengai" (canopies) are suspended from the "gotenjo" (coffered ceiling). The statue of Kobo Daishi that is stored in its inner-most area was built in the Edo period and is made of wood, and it has been repainted in recent years.
