Commentary

This is the Bell Tower; it is a registered tangible cultural property. Looking at the detailed designs and other features of this bell tower, it is estimated to have been built during the end of the Edo period. The temple bell it houses was built in 1958 by the Kyoto Sanwa Bonsho Foundry, under the supervision of the researcher of temple sounds, Ichiro Aoki, and researcher of Esoteric Buddhist drawings, Ryuken Sawa.
